This course is designed to introduce the student to fundamentals of developing web-based applications.

The following major topics will be covered during the one semester course:

  • State of the art scripting tools like Perl and PHP will be used in development.
  • DHTML, Javascripting techniques will be introduced for advanced web based graphical user interface design.
  • Techniques and tools for interfacing to popular RDBMS servers.
  • Socket programming techniques.

Successful students will become proficient in developing moderately complex web applications.
Four lecture hours per week. Credit units: 4, Prerequisite: CTP 203.
