The SIMPLEX listserver program
consists of only one Perl script; listserver.pl.
The script needs to know a listserver
home (recommended home : /etc/listserver).
Please see Installation
notes to learn how this home is specified.
I recommend you put the script in
/usr/local/bin.
Make sure the script file is world
executable but writable only by the owner.
The script uses some files located in
the listserver home:
- a subscriber database (actually it is a
plain text file) for each list; where file names are in the list_id.subscribers format;
- and a forbidden file which containes a
list of email addresses that are banned to post messages to mailing lists managed by this
service.
You can edit these files with any
editor you like, provided that you keep them as standard UNIX text files.
